Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian in Leyden Township.
At approximately 2:55 a.m. on Jan. 21, Sheriff’s Police located an unresponsive 37-year-old man with significant trauma in the 2400 block of Mannheim Road. The preliminary investigation found that that man had been struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was not located on scene.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died yesterday from his injuries.
The offending vehicle is believed to a black Nissan Sentra with passenger side damage.
Sheriff Dart asks anyone with information about the driver or the incident to call Sheriff’s Police detectives at 708-865-4896.
