Community Support Services

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office Community Support Services Department is comprised of specialized units dedicated to strengthening communities, supporting residents in need, and promoting public safety through outreach, rehabilitation, transportation assistance, workforce development, and community engagement initiatives. Through collaborative partnerships and service-driven programs, Community Support Services works to reduce recidivism, increase access to critical resources, and improve the overall quality of life throughout Cook County.

Units within Community Support Services include:

  • CRC – Community Resource Center
  • SHARP – Sheriff’s Housing Assistance Resource Program
  • SWAP – Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program
  • RENEW – Restoring Neighborhoods Workforce
  • SCO – Sheriff’s Community Outreach
  • CTC – Community Transportation and Compliance
  • SSC – Sheriff’s Security Compliance

 

Community Support Services is led by Executive Director Don Beachem, Jr and staffed by sworn personnel and civilian professionals with extensive experience in law enforcement, social services, community advocacy, workforce engagement, transportation coordination, and public service leadership. Together, the department remains committed to delivering impactful services, strengthening community partnerships, and enhancing the quality of life for residents throughout Cook County.
