Cicero Man Charged with Dissemination of Child Pornography

Jan 23, 2026Press Release

COOK COUNTY, IL – A 25-year-old Cicero man has been charged after a Cook County Sheriff’s Police investigation found he shared child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) via a social media app, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.

The Sheriff’s Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) launched an investigation in February after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a social media account containing CSAM files.

Through search warrants, Sheriff’s Police investigators learned the account’s IP address returned to a residence in the 3600 block of South 61st Court in Cicero and images of CSAM were confirmed from the social media account.

On Jan. 21, investigators executed a search warrant at that address and located Angel Davila Navarro in the home. Further investigation found that Davila Navarro’s phone number was connected to the account with the CSAM files, and he was taken into custody.

On Jan. 22, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved Dissemination of Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography charges against him.

Davila Navarro was ordered to Cook County Jail custody on Jan. 23 following his initial court appearance at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse.

Since 2020, Sheriff’s Police ICAC Unit investigations have led to charges against 60 people for cases involving victimization of children and child pornography.

The public is reminded that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
