Property Pick-Up

For an individual currently in custody

If you are a family member trying to recover property of an individual who is currently in custody, you must follow the following steps.

For Divisions 6, 9, and 11

1. You must physically go to the division and ask a Correctional Liaison* for a property release form signed by the individual in custody.

             *Correctional Liaisons are available for public assistance Mon-Fri 9:00am-1:30pm.

                   Division 6 (2801 S. Sacramento Ave.)

                   Division 9 (2834 W. 31st Street)

                   Division 11 (3015 S. California Blvd.)

      2. Once you are provided with the signed document, you must bring the signed document to Division 5 to retrieve the property.

For all other divisions (Divisions 2,3 Annex, 5, 08 RTU, 8 Cermak and 16),

Please go directly to Division 5. 

Division 5 (2700 S. California Ave.) Sun-Sat 9:00am-7:00pm

For an individual that has been transported to IDOC or another correctional facility

1. Prior to being transferred to another facility, the individual in custody will complete and sign a release form and mail it out to the recipient.
2. Once the form is received, the recipient can bring the form into division 5 pm to recover the property.

Division 5 (2700 S. California Ave.) Sun-Sat 9:00am-7:00pm

You must have a valid ID to enter the jail. 

Please expect to wait as property pick up may take one to two hours.
