Community Support Services

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office Community Support Services Department includes various units that aim to increase rehabilitative approaches, decrease recidivism, and provide tools to those in need throughout the Cook County community. Units under this department include the Community Resource Center (CRC), the Sheriff’s Housing Assistance Resource Program (SHARP), the Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program (SWAP), and the Restoring Neighborhoods Workforce (RENEW) initiative. The Community Support Services Department is comprised of sworn staff and civilians with decades of experience in social work, mental health, law enforcement, community advocacy, and leadership.
